KIMBERLY MIGUEL MULLEN

Dance Ethnology

Kimberly Miguel Mullen is a classically trained folkloric dance artist and cultural ethnologist.

She contributes to a legacy of performers from Cuba and Brazil. Her dance practice is rooted in ritual dance expressions from religious systems of the African diaspora and her movements portray deities called the Orichas/Orixas. Through ongoing innovative performances, in-depth workshops, and dance intensives, Mullen expands the reach of African diasporic forms. Her groundbreaking concert performances and her insightful teaching open up new possibilities for health, historical knowledge, and cultural exchange.
